Sun dresses with bright florals, cute strappy sandals, manicured nails and perfectly highlighted hair. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Out of place\u00e2\u20ac\u009d was an understatement.<\/p>\n<p>Until biology class.<\/p>\n<p>A pixie of a girl walked in, wearing a GIGANTIC Flaming Lips t-shirt, jeans and scuffed up Chucks.<\/p>\n<p>Later that night, I told my mom all about Stephanie.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Is her mom Patricia?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d my mom asked, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I was best friends with a Patricia in 5<sup>th<\/sup> grade. She\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s from here and has a daughter named Stephanie.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Despite my skepticism, I asked her: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hey Steph, is your mom Patricia?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Yes! And your mom is Lisa, right?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d She smiled.<\/p>\n<p>After that we were pretty much inseparable.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie helped me become ME. We were weird together; she listened to all my crazy ideas, spent hours singing along to our favorite songs, and daydreamed about how awesome our lives were going to be after high school. She helped me realize that I wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t alone and that there were people who thought the way I did.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know if she really knows how much she helped me.
